The Eva Ahlström Foundation wants to support sustainable peace – a new cooperation agreement with CMI
Today’s conflicts cannot be solved through war and violence. Lasting peace always needs a negotiated solution. The Eva Ahlström Foundation has signed a three-year cooperation agreement with the conflict resolution organization Crisis Management Initiative (CMI). The aim of the cooperation is to support CMI’s efforts to find lasting peaceful solutions to violent conflicts.
As part of the new cooperation agreement, the Eva Ahlström Foundation supports CMI’s work to alleviate tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The Korean conflict is a culmination of local, regional and great power politics. There are several parties involved. CMI has been asked to provide its expertise for efforts to find a sustainable solution to conflict. This is a unique opportunity for a Finnish organization to contribute to solving a conflict that is at the heart of international politics.
